What is Aona AI?
Aona AI is a Workforce AI Security platform for Shadow AI discovery, policy enforcement and generative-AI DLP on prompts and file uploads. Its 10,000+ AI-tool catalog is a tracked catalog, not a claim that every deployment observes or controls every tool. Aona offers browser support for Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari and a Windows/macOS native endpoint app; observation and policy outcomes depend on the supported application, endpoint, provider surface and connection path. Configured policies can use warn, block, redact or coach responses on supported workflows. Aona was founded in 2023 and is headquartered in Sydney, Australia. Where does Aona store customer data?
Aona offers two separate choices. Backend hosting can use customer cloud, customer on-premises or Aona-managed servers. Aona prompt processing can run on the user device/on-edge, in customer cloud or on-premises, or on Aona-managed servers. Aona-managed hosting can be configured in seven regions: Australia, France, United Kingdom, Germany, United States, Singapore and Hong Kong. Confirm regional availability and the supported configuration, prompt and file paths, storage, retention, telemetry, support access and integrations for the intended rollout. These options do not imply every combination has identical capabilities, that all existing clients already process on-edge, or that telemetry is absent. The destination AI provider's processing and storage are separate from Aona's choices. What certifications and compliance coverage does Aona have?
Aona has completed a SOC 2 Type II examination covering Security, Confidentiality and Availability. Request the report to review the auditor’s findings and the full system scope. The report covers Security, Confidentiality and Availability for the observation period from 23 October 2025 to 23 January 2026. Securance Pro Assurance PLLC issued it on 17 March 2026. Review the report for the systems and controls included in the examination. The report is available through the Trust Center at https://aona.ai/trust/. The product can map audit logs and reporting to GDPR, HIPAA, the EU AI Act, ISO 42001, NIST AI RMF, SOC 2 and the OWASP LLM Top 10. Mapping does not itself establish a customer's certification, legal compliance, conformity assessment or regulator acceptance. How is Aona deployed and how long does it take?
Plan three parts of an Aona rollout: backend hosting, prompt-processing location and employee endpoint coverage. Host the backend in customer cloud, customer on-premises or on Aona-managed servers. Separately, choose Aona prompt processing on the user device/on-edge, in customer cloud or on-premises, or on Aona-managed servers. Browser and native endpoint components provide different app and action coverage; some native paths require local proxy/TLS interception and a trusted certificate. Confirm the supported configuration, installation path, permissions, connectivity, retention, telemetry and integrations before rollout. IT teams can deploy the Aona endpoint app on Windows and macOS with their preferred software deployment tools. Intune is one option; direct installation is also available on both platforms.
